Lindsay Lands herself the Autumn Cup!

Our 2023 HDA Autumn Cup day took place on the 28th of October under the most perfect weather conditions.

Our wonderful Halfway House girls, Louise and Jan (with a bit of extra help from Frankland) were chuffed to see the hut had been glassed in by Spencer of The Home Space Group. Their offerings of rolls, drinks and home-made cakes was, as usual, tip-top! Thank you girls for all you do!

Simon of HDA Homes spent the morning capturing the four-balls as they prepared to set off. We especially appreciate the gesture as it was actually his birthday (Happy birthday again, Simon and thank you). The overall scores were outstanding to say the least! For the Committee, watching the live scores towards the end was nail-biting stuff.

At one point we had a tie between Andrew Haigh and Karen Leavy both coming in with 40 points. This soon changed as Brian Saunders confirmed a card of 41 points - we presumed Brian would be picking up his second big prize of the week ... this, nonetheless was not to be as 10 minutes later, the final four-ball came off the 18th topping the lot. Torril Angelvik scored an amazing 42 points and the overall Autumn Cup winner, Lindsay Laing, an incredible 43 points. Phew, what a finish! Well done to all. In the coming 6 weeks we have the Remembrance Day, St. Andrews Day, Founders' and Chairman's Cup competitions so a busy time for the HDA Golf Committee and helpers. Let's hope we can ensure top-standard events for all our players.
