St George´s Day Competition

The annual St George´s Day golf competition had an unusual twist this year: the wind was determined to challenge every swing and every putt. We all knew the wind could change meticulous strokes into wild flails. Somehow players breezed through it, coming in with scores way above 40, amazingly!
By hole 8 success depended largely on precision rather than power. Unrelenting gusts turned birdies into bogeys, some balls finding water others the deep soggy sand of the bunkers. The golfers and greens were bruised by the wind, balls were on a never ending roll - 1 putt, 2 putts, 3 and 4, if you made a score at all.
Great to see a few new teams pairing up for the 4BBB Pairs, all nationalities playing together as one. So who won in the end with 48 points?

Our sponsors for this events was 3RS, part of the Hozono Global Group, we thank them. Due to their sponsorship and the Committee we were able to offer great prizes and a lovely après golf appetizer of a mini burger and chips, which I´m sure you´ll agree was fabulous, with a free drink to all players. Greatly appreciated 3RS. The Clubhouse did a great job too serving us all with a smile and keeping everything running smoothly, even the beer!
The Halfway House ladies were windswept for hours, yet managed to hold onto their goodies tightly to serve up some lovely sandwiches and refreshments. Thank you once again, you are so much a part of these competitions.
The Raffle prizes went down well and is a great fundraiser for the golfers Cocktail evening on Wednesday 2nd December. Thank you for participating, we have raised 338 euros over 3 events so far. Great work!
And now to the Rogue´s Gallery below, I like this part - some smile, some frown and others are oblivious all together, engrossed in the presentations 😁. Great to see everyone on the lovely Clubhouse balcony enjoying themselves.
See you at the Club Championships (handicap order) on 30th & 31st May. That´s all folks!
