'Lee'ding the Way in the '100'!

April '100 Competition' winner - Lee Roe.

After the fantastic St George's Day Competition on Saturday 23 April the Members at HDA settled down for another quiet week of golf...

Oh no we didn't... we were straight back into one of our Special competitions - April's instalment of the very popular '100 Competition' on Tuesday 26 April.

Conditions had improved from the 'hooligan' of the weekend and a fantastic field of 52 player took on the challenge for the €100 voucher.

In the Ladies category a fine 39 points from Heather Janney was enough to win by two from fellow Committee Member (inquest???) Sue Winder with 37 points.

Steve Forbes took the men's Category on lower handicap from Paul Janney... both players with 35 points.

Gareth Woolnough returned to form with 38 points to take the Men's Category 1.

However, the performance of the day was reserved for the Men's Category 3.

Steve Crook secured third place with 37 points, two behind his arch rival, and runner-up, Ronnie 'Rocket' Hallam with 39 points.

The winner was Lee Roe, who followed up his winning Pairs performance at St George's Day, with a superb 41 points... what a score! No doubt the Federation 'handicap scythe' is wielding its merry mayhem as we speak!

Lee collected his €100 voucher from Sue Winder and also a box of TaylorMade TP5 balls (worth €58) donated by The Great Golf Company, Balsicas. The perfect prize for a great performance.
