September '100 Competition' Winner Steve Forbes!

He may have been the bridesmaid on two recent 100 Competitions, but on Tuesday 20 September, Steve Forbes emerged from the shadows and stormed into the limelight to claim the coveted prize!

Once again the '100 Competition' proved to be very popular (I wonder why???) with 56 players filling all our available tee times... and with conditions set to almost perfect the scoring was always likely to be rather good.

And so it proved... with several players posting high 30's across the four categories.

But, there was only ever going to be one winner of this '100 Competition'... Steve raced to a first nine total of 24 points and continued his dominance on the back nine with a further 20 points - and an 18 hole total of 44 points!

What a time to play your best game ever... Steve dedicated the win to his long suffering (her words, not mine) wife Jan and to his Mum back in Scotland - no doubt she already has a signed copy of his winning photograph sitting on her mantlepiece!

Congratulations to Steve who received the winner's €100 voucher (kindly sponsored by Graham Sparkes and Norbert Petersen) and a dozen golf balls donated by The Great Golf Company, Balsicas (worth €48!!!)... what a great prize!!!

As previously indicated, some prudent financial budgeting from Heather Janney and the continued support of Norbert Petersen and Graham Sparkes means that this was not the 'Final 100 Competition' as billed! We now have (at least) another seven planned over the coming months...so, the '100 Competition' will return on 18 October with another instalment on 15 November. Further competitions will the run, roughly monthly, in the new year.
