Yet another chilly February morning at HDA saw a total of 65 players wrap up and brave the elements in the hope of getting their mitts on the €100 prize, sponsored by the Home Space Group.

At least we were thankful was no frost to delay play, as was the case over the previous few days!

February 100 Competition winner Allard Bruijsten with sponsor Spencer Kelly fromThe Home Space Group.

Scores across the board were as low as the temperature with only three or four players within sight of 40 points...

Mike Niven, with 35 pts came second in Mens' Cat 1, three points behind the winner, Florian Fleck, with 38 pts. Well done, both!

Ladies Cat winner, the intrepid, all-weather player, Gina Wageman (only because she has a suuuper dooper heated jacket ;-) was closest to the coveted prize with an admirable 40 points. However, Gina had to be content with winning the ladies' Cat, with Karen Leavy (32 pts.) picking up 2nd prize. Congrats, ladies!

In Mens' Cat 2, Archie Mckie (34 pts) picked up 1st prize, pipping Pasi Vanninen (34 pts) at the post on lower handicap. Paco Reventos picked up 3rd prize with 33 pts. Well done, guys!

In Mens' Category 3, things got very close for second and third place with Kevin Leavy and Ian Burrows coming in with 33 points AND having the same handicap ...... oh the suspense! On count-back Kevin came out on top, leaving Ian to pick up 3rd prize; not to be sneezed at! Again, well done!

However, and to take the chill off his morning, the 100 Competition Winner was Allard Bruijsten, who, having had a few precarious rounds recently (I know, I played with him ...), found that everything came together on the day and he came in tops with 41 points. Congratulations, Allard!

Let's not forget to congratulate the 2's winners of the day: Sue Hill - hole 8, Andy Mitchell - hole 8, Cecil Tassie - hole 12 and Florian Fleck hole 15.

Here's looking forward to a warmer March 100 Competition!!!

P.S. Today I managed to show the lovely barista at the Club House bar how to make a hot toddy. Delicious! Only the cloves were lacking so we could be on a promise here.... I plan to donate a pot of cloves to the Club House bar!

Well Played Everyone!
