'100%' Perfection for Karen!!!

February '100 Competition' Winner - Karen Leavy.

What a great day we had for the first '100 Competition' of the year on Tuesday 22 February... the weather was beautiful and 63 players, across all categories, challenged for the coveted prize!

The overall winner was Karen Leavy who fired a fantastic round of 39 points... taking the Ladies Category by two points from runner-up Catherine McLanders.

Congratulations to Karen who received the winner's €100 voucher (kindly sponsored by Graham Sparkes and Norbert Petersen) and a dozen TaylorMade TP5 golf balls donated by The Great Golf Company, Balsicas (worth €58!!!)... what a great prize!!!

Karen's closest challenger was in the Men's Category 2, where Steve Hosking posted a round of 38 points, only one behind Karen, but four points ahead of runner-up Tam Henderson.

In the Men's Category 1, Gareth Woolnough took first place (on lower handicap) from Tim Shilling - both players with 36 points.

It was equally tight in the Men's Category 3, where Paul Janney was third with 34 points. One ahead were runner-up Norbert Petersen and winner (again on lower handicap!) Roy Hymers - both with 35 points.

And, it was quite a unique 'Two's-day' (that's a play on Tuesday!!!)...

In fact, it was the 'International 2's Day' - with the date being 22.2.22 and the Members responded in the appropriate way with seven individual 2's -

Tim Shilling and Peter Whitehead on hole 5, Karen Leavy, Gareth Woolnough, Ged Errington and Florian Fleck on hole 8... and finally, Alistair Hamilton hole 12.

The popular '100 Competition' will return on 22 March.
