Remembrance Charity Texas Scramble

Remembrance Texas Scramble was a huge success with 74 players taking part, 14 mixed teams and 5 men´s teams with the results ranging from PAR to -14 (with a 3 ball!!!)

The winning mixed team was Steve & Lynne Hosking and Florian Fleck - 14

Second mixed team was Sue & Geoff Hill, Andy Tibbs and Tommy Higgins -12

The winning men´s team was Andrew Haigh, Steve Forbes, Rob Edwards

and Tam Henderson -9

Ronnie Hallam gave a solemn heartfelt speech reminding us of fallen friends and colleagues before the last post was played. 

Many thanks to Fairway´s for opening early, allowing players to bask in the sun before the evening chill arrived.

The charity putting competition on the Clubhouse green run by Joan Higgins and Annette Jones was another success with a total of 245 euros raised for charity. Thank you.

Halfway House ladies were in action making sure no golfers went hungry or thirsty on a lovely sunny day.  Thanks to Louise Haigh and Sharon Lizzimore. Thank you Paul Janney who sponsored Halfway House.

A final thank you to Lesley Sampson who represented the Royal British Legion, Mazarron who came to support the charity event and present gifts to the winning teams. A grand total of 660 euros was raised from the HDA Golf Members. Thank you everyone.

A special note of thanks goes out to Graham and Barbara Wilson who kindly gave all their funds from their members´ account to the charity as a parting gesture, as their days in golf have sadly come to an end. We wish them well for the future and will miss them sadly, having been part of the golf group since the beginning of HDA.
