Members´ Memorial Competition

What a fantastic day is was on Tuesday 17th February for the Golf Members Memorial competition, remembering the old and celebrating the new. Raising a toast to past members who gave a lot to this community and golf.  The sun was shining and the wind had finally dropped, turning our outdoor après-golf at Fairways into a lovely afternoon. Members were treated to a complimentary burger, chips and drink thanks to members and the Committee; supported by Colin and staff of Fairway´s. Scrummy!  Thank you.

There were a number of winners of note but the overall winning team was Steve & Julie Crook and Brian & Sue Saunders, quite a formidable team with -11. The deal was sealed with 3 very lucky, extra long putts and a chip in! They were presented with the beautiful silver Keith Howie Quiach, which was raised to toast passed members.

Austin & John Willis with -10. Well done guys!

2nd in the mixed team was Paul & Heather Janney, Peter Bethell and

Andy Mitchell with -10. Well done!

3rd in the mixed team was Andrew Haigh, Steve Forbes, Paul Mayne & Peggy O´Dea an excellent line up of golfers with a close -9. Well done!

The Halfway House ladies were on form, keeping everyone in order with a smile. Thank you both, it wouldn´t be the same without you.  HH was sponsored by Sue Winder, thank you very much.

It´s always nice to end of a ¨funny¨ and that was the Nearest the Line, which seemed to have shrunk by a third making it quite a challenge, I couldn´t help but laugh!
