Competing for the Trevor Taylor Trophy &
Sponsored by The Great Golf Company, Balsicas.

Texas Scramble was the format of the day with a total of 15 teams taking part - 6 men´s teams and 9 mixed. There was high scoring from the field, even the lowest score was Par!
Everyone was in high spirits before play, with a shot gun start revving up the atmosphere. From 7.30 players started arriving for their tickets and heading off to the practice area. Very keen indeed. The buggy area was busy, busy, busy. The chatter was loud and somewhat raucous with goading and laughter all around - oh the buzz of a shot gun comp!
The weather was good to us. Even with a fog descending over HDA just after sunrise - very strange - we knew it was going to be a hot one as temperatures steadily rose to 36 degrees with no breeze to speak of. Luckily everyone kept well hydrated helped by our lovely ladies at Half Way House. Thank you ladies.
A New Feature. I asked the team for a few anecdotes of their winning round. Here´s what they had to say:
"We are absolutely shattered but thrilled to have won today's competition. " Minus 15" wow! In team 'Godking' everyone excelled and complimented each other. We putted many long pots when under pressure, giving us six birdies and two bogies. Even under the pressure to drive at the end, everyone held steady. Thank you to the committee members for organising behind the scenes for a wonderful day. Thank you to ,'The Great Golf Company " for their generous support and prizes. Well done everyone.
Thank you team for your post match summary.
Let's not forget to mention the winning Men´s team, who also played a fantastic round, coming in at -12 with a team handicap of only 5! They were Andrew Haigh, Steve Forbes, Tam Henderson and last but not least Neil Frankland.
Well done guys.

2nd & 3rd placed teams followed closely with:
The Men´s Teams -
2nd - Darren Morritt, Ronnie Hallam, Andrew Tibbs and Martin Hay -10
3rd - Michael Niven, Archie Mckie, Tassos Sachinis and Cecil Tassie -9
Mixed Teams Runners Up -
2nd - Heather & Paul Janney, Peter Bethel and Andy Mitchell -9 (lower handicap)
3rd - Steve & Julie Crook with Sue & Brian Saunders -9
Congratulations!
Very well played everyone, particularly on an ever changing course. What´s all this grass about!
See you all after the Summer ready for the next round of trophy and boarded competitions from September through to December.
The year culminates with the "Founders" 2 day event on 6th & 7th December 2025 - a date for the diary. Event planning has already started for this and we´re looking for anyone interested in sponsoring the biggest golfing event of the year. Large or smaller donations are very welcome. We hope to make it bigger and better, with your support. Email the Chair, Imelda if you wish to offer support - hdagolfmembers@gmail.com.
Have a great summer.
Bye for now.
