This year at Hacienda Del Alamo Golf we held the Chairperson's Cup event to raise funds for the Spanish Wolf-Hirschhorn (WHS) Association https://wolfhirschhorn.com/sitioweb/ 

Our dear friends Ruth Ferguson and Samuel were involved in founding this association after the birth of their daughter, Emily, who is affected by this syndrome. Emily is now 17 and much of her fantastic progress has been made thanks to the WHS Association! Plus the fact that she also has the most amazing parents in the world! Ruth, Samuel and Emily visited us yesterday for the charity fund raising event held at the Ona Hotel on HDA.

The golfers and friends raised over 700 euros for the charity. Anyone still wishing to give to the charity please do so by going directly to their website. Thank you everyone.

After a week of storms the sun came out to play along with 68 players who braved the autumn breeze, taking in the wonderful fresh air. The course loved the rain and is growing quickly, by spring it´s going to be fantastic. The rough is creating havoc though.

The overall winners of the Chairperson´s Cup were Paul Mayne & Peggy O´dea in the mixed team category winning with a superb 46 points! It was apparently just one of those (rare) days when they couldn't do anything wrong. Brilliant days when you get them. You were both flying high - a dangerous team to watch out for in the future!

Not too far behind, were the winners of the men´s pairs Tassos Sachinis & Christian Dettmer with 43 points. Another great score. Well done.

Runners Up - Men´s Pairs - 30 players

2nd place were Gareth Woolnough & Albert Brown with 40 points.

3rd place were Peter Whitehead & Pat Doody with 38 points.

Runners Up - Mixed Team Pairs - 38 players

2nd place Brian & Sue Saunders with 40 points.

3rd place Steve & Julie Crook with 39 points.

Great scoring on the day everyone. Well done.

It was great to see you all at the hotel for the après golf, were the sun kept on shining all the way through the presentations. A great buzz, with the draw for 25 raffle prizes, generously donated by friends of the HDA golf members and local businesses.

The putting green queens - Joan Higgins & Annette Jones, raised an amazing 310 euros to the charity funds running the putting green competition. Grabbing our golfers as they passed by and many unsuspecting golfers along the way. Brilliant!
